This policy covers Pink Slip Approach and this website. It was last reviewed on 28 September 2026.
What we collect
We only ask for what we need to do the job and tell you about it. There is no account to create, and nothing on this site asks you to sign up.
When you request a quote: your name, mobile number, email address, the address the car will be at, and for each car its registration number, make and model, what you need done and any notes you add. You also tell us your preferred time of day.
When you ask a question: your first name and surname, your mobile number, your message and, if you choose to give it, your email address.
When you use the website: anonymous usage measurements, described under “Website measurement” below.
When you pay online: Stripe handles your payment details. We send it your name, contact details and order amount, and keep the payment reference and status with your booking.
What we do with it
- Arrange and carry out your inspection or service, and contact you about it.
- Send you a confirmation of your request by email, and by SMS if you gave a mobile.
- Lodge a passed inspection with Transport for NSW, which is what a pink slip is for.
- Invoice you and keep the business records the law requires us to keep.
- Answer the question you asked.
We do not send marketing email or SMS from anything you submit on this site, and we do not sell, rent or trade your details to anyone.
Who else sees it
Your details are handled by our own team and by the services we use to run the business. Each one only gets what it needs:
- ServiceM8, our job management system, holds your job: your contact details, the address and the car. It also holds general inquiries, including your name, contact details and question.
- Our email provider carries the confirmation to you and the job notification to our team.
- Mobile Message carries SMS, so it sees your mobile number and the message.
- Stripe processes online payments and passes the information needed to your chosen payment provider.
- Vercel hosts the website and private checkout records used to verify payments and prevent duplicate bookings.
- Transport for NSW receives the inspection result, as required.
We share your details with these providers to do the job you asked for, and for no other purpose. Some of them store data outside Australia.
Website measurement
We measure how the website is used so we can fix what does not work. It is set up so that it cannot identify you:
- No profile is ever built for a visitor, and no visitor identity is stored.
- Nothing you type is captured. There is no automatic click capture, no heatmap and no session replay.
- Page addresses are reduced before they are sent. A suburb page is recorded as a suburb page, an article as an article, and a private confirmation link as a confirmation link, without the suburb, the article or the token.
We do not run advertising or tracking pixels on this site.
Cookies and browser storage
We do not use advertising cookies. The site keeps a small amount of information in your own browser so it works properly: your light or dark setting, the quote you are part way through so you do not lose it if you refresh, and an anonymous measurement identifier. Clearing your browser data removes these local copies. Someone using the same browser profile may be able to see a saved quote, so clear it after using a shared device.
Keeping it safe
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and requests from the forms are sent the same way. Card details go directly through Stripe’s hosted payment fields and are not stored by this website. Access to job records is limited to the people who need it to do the work.
We limit repeated requests using protected identifiers derived from IP addresses and contact details. The counters do not contain your raw IP address, mobile number or email address.
No system is perfect, and we will not claim otherwise. If something goes wrong in a way that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the law requires.
Seeing, correcting or deleting your details
You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@pinkslipapproach.com.au or call 1300 696 999. We will ask a couple of questions to check it is you, then answer within a reasonable time.
Some records we have to keep. Tax law requires us to hold invoices for a set period, and an inspection lodged with Transport for NSW is their record as well as ours, so we cannot remove it on request.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first and we will try to sort it out. If you are still unhappy, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the review date at the top. Our terms and conditions cover the work itself.
