Questions about pre-purchase inspections
A national register search, costing a couple of dollars, that shows whether a car has money owing on it, or is recorded as written off or stolen. If you buy a car with finance owing, it can be repossessed even though you paid for it.
The safety items any registered car has to meet, such as brakes, tyres, steering, suspension, lights and structural rust, plus signs of past repair, leaks, and wear that doesn’t match the odometer.
